When you arrive in Quito, the capital of Ecuador (which sits 2,800 meters above sea level, at the foot of the Pichincha volcano), you will be met at the airport and taken to your hotel.
Pick up from your location. During the transfer to Las Terrazas de Dana Boutique Lodge & Spa in the Mindo Cloud Forest, you will enjoy a snack box.
Opportunity to stop and enjoy the amazing Mitad del Mundo, the interesting Intiñan Museum, the wonderful Pululahua Viewpoint and the Los Armadillos Hummingbird Garden.
Lunch at a restaurant. After lunch, we will visit a different Hummingbird Garden located in the town of Mindo in which you will have the opportunity to observe and meet some species of hummingbirds not associated with those you met in Los Armadillos. A local orchid garden will be our next stop. Many wild orchids from the Mindo Cloud Forest will be waiting for you.
At the end of these visits, we will return to the Hotel to enjoy a relaxing evening on your private terrace or in our pool.
Dinner and overnight at Las Terrazas de Dana Boutique Lodge & Spa.
Breakfast starts at 8:00 am.
Then, with a private naturalist guide, we will continue to the Chairlift and Cable Car with which you will cross the Nambillo River Valley and begin the adventure to the Mindo Cloud Forest Waterfalls Sanctuary. It is easy to see 5 or 6 waterfalls on this morning hike with your private naturalist guide who will show you the secrets of the cloud forest.
Lunch at the hotel.
During the afternoon, we will visit a chocolate factory. A guide will tell you all the details about the chocolate making process and at the end of the tour you will be able to taste different types of this delicious chocolate.
After the visit to the chocolate factory, we will have a cooking class at the hotel based on local products and Ecuadorian cuisine.
After breakfast on your private terrace or in our restaurant area, we will visit the butterfly farm in the Mindo cloud forest to observe hundreds of butterflies and their colors.
Why not also enjoy ziplining or tubing on the Mindo River, which is a local Mindo activity? These are optional activities that are not included in the program, but can be.
You can also enjoy our pool, spa and gardens before your midday departure and transfer to your hotel in Quito or the airport area.
Your driver will pick you up and transfer you to the airport for your flight to Galapagos.
